The story of the group/boy band we now know as 1D or One Direction is one that will forever be etched in the minds of all those that watched the boys from the very first day in 2010 when they walked in NOT as a group but as individuals looking to impress and looking for a break.
Their story today is one that illustrates the saying "The rejected stone has turned into the chief cornerstone".
In 2010, They stepped onto the stage of the X-factor auditions as individuals (Harry, Liam, Niall, Zayn And Louis) talented in their own rights and seeking to be recognised as singers and performers.
They sailed through the auditions, moved to the next satge of bootcamp and on the final day of bootcamp, their world came crashing down when they heard those words "Sorry but this is the end of the road for you".
Harry, Liam, Niall, Zayn And Louis with a couple of hundred more "rejects" believed it was over for them and were thinking of how to go back to the family they left behind to say that they weren't good enough for the X-factor musical reality show.
BUT THEN something happened and 5 boys were called in by the judges who directly or indirectly said to them that individually their voices were not good enough but that collectively as a boy band they the judges think the boys will do better.
The boys were over the moon to be given another chance and so One Direction Boy Band was officially formed. 5 boys from different background, living in different cities, never sang together before, came together to make music and continued week after week to impress and finally emerged as third place winners in the British X-factor show.
